  1. During the summer, I read "Firefly Lane" by Kristin Hannah. I liked the way the author told the story of a friendship between two women starting when they were 14 years old. Since the beginning of the novel was set in the 1970's, I could relate to some of the music and clothes that the author described in the book. It also made me think of the best friend that I had when I was 14.

  2. Back in 6th Grade at my old school, I read this book called "Number the Stars" By: Lois Lowry. The Book was about the Holocaust. I Liked it because it grabbed my attention when I heard it was about a little girl and her family in the Holocaust. It told us about how she went to school a different way everyday to school because of the gaurds at the corners of the street. It was sad but grabbing my attention even more when she told about people running the stores being killed because they were jewish. Weeks after that gaurds came into her house and took her away along with her family and the only thing she had was the 'Star of David' charm on a necklace she kept in her hand as she went away.

Unfortunately Alex's parent died when he was a baby. one night the police came to his house and told Alex that his uncle had been killed in a car accident. After the funeral the bank manager, a man named Mr. Blunt, calls him and asks Alex to come by his office. After the meeting Alex sneaks into his uncle's old office and finds odd files. At that moment a man comes into the room and shoots alex.

  6. During school last year, I read the book, "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. It really grabbed my attention and as I read it I felt as if I was a part of this so called "perfect society" the utopia.Jonas, the main character, becomes the Reciever of Memory when he becomes a 12. He finds it difficult and challenging when he first starts out, but then as he progresses he becomes better and finally recieves the gift he was destined for.
